Gallery Staff

Sarah Jo Lightner, Confluence Gallery ManagerSarah Jo Lightner, Executive Director

Sarah Jo Lightner is the Executive Director of the Confluence as well as a working silversmith. She studied agricultural economics at the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and metalsmithing at the Oregon College of Arts and Craft. Sarah Jo worked in the restaurant business for 22 years, including owning her own restaurant in Portland, Oregon before joining the staff at CGAC.

Sarah Jo loves to meet new artists and gain an understanding of their creative process so that she can display and show their work dynamically in the Gallery and Gift Shop. In her free time she still loves to cook, go to the lake and boat, as well as run after her twin girls.

Fun fact: Sarah Jo has been to 83 Phish shows.

 

Kaileah Akker, Gallery/Gift Shop Program Manager

Kaileah joins the Confluence staff as the new Gallery/Gift Shop Program Manager. Kaileah grew up in the Tri-Cities and spend the last four years in Walla Walla earning a degree from Whitman College. She moved to Winthrop in June of 2018 for the passionate, close knit community she saw the valley to be while visiting family throughout her childhood. In her free time, she plays pickleball and cherishes her time with the magnificent people she has found throughout the valley.

 

Sharla Lynn, Communications and Gallery Assistant

Sharla joins the Confluence staff as the new Communications and gallery assistant.  Sharla is a long time resident of the Methow valley and is a jack of all trades.  She proudly helps out at many organizations including the Merc Playhouse and Methow Recycles.

Each member of the Board of Directors serves a three (3) year term. The Board meets monthly and is active in every aspect of CGAC from strategic planning, fundraising, building maintenance, volunteer coordination to the exhibit and show committee.
