Hooves, Hearts and Fairytails

SUMMARY

Hello Artists,

We invite you to contribute to our exhibit “Hooves, Hearts, and Fairy Tales” at the Confluence Gallery in Twisp, WA. The show will open on September 5, 2020 and run through October 10, 2020.

Hooves, Hearts, and Fairy Tales is a show that views Hooved Beasts – both real and imagined – Love and Fairy Tales through the lens of Innocence. Evoking feelings of curiosity and wonder. 

This show seeks to elevate hooved beasts, both real and imagined, with an essence of love, imagination and innocence. Show your love for these hooved beasts of the land. Bring your curiosity and wonder to the foreground and embrace the feelings just beyond the surface of reality.

Number of pieces to submit: a maximum of two per artist.

Each piece must be:

  • Your own original work.
  • Available for sale.
  • Created in the last 3 years.
  • Not previously shown in the Methow Valley area.
  • Any size.
  • Any medium.
  • Reading for hanging with appropriate hardwire/wire secured to work (works without hardware will not be hung!!)

Please note the curator have the right to refuse work, even after work is delivered to the gallery, if it does not contribute to the direction, cohesiveness, or available space of the show.  We are looking for high quality execution and thoughtful content that contribute to the vision of the show as stated above.

DEADLINES

July 30, 2020 -Intent to Submit

August 1, 2020 -Image J pegs of accepted work or work in progress

August 29, 2020 – All works must be at the Confluence Gallery.

Show Opening: Saturday, September 5, 2020 •
Show Closes: Saturday, October 10. Work will be available for pick up from 5 – 6:30 p.m.

  • Intent to Submit: Email Intent to Submit Form [PDF] and JPEGs titled “lastname_title_medium_size” to Gallery Program Manager (info@confluencegallery.com) by show specific date.
  • Accepted work: Email high quality JPEGs (300dpi) of accepted work or work in progress along with Artist Statement and Bio (word doc preferred, pdf OK), Inventory Sheet [PDF], and Confluence Gallery Contract [PDF] up to and including the day of delivery. All works must be at the Confluence Gallery approximately one week prior to show opening.
  • Shipping: Confluence Gallery and Art Center is a non-profit gallery. All shipping arrangements and costs to and from the gallery of unsold works are each artist’s responsibility. See Confluence Gallery Shipping Procedures Form [PDF] for details.
  • Commisions: Confluence Gallery offers commission structure of 60/40 to non-members artists and 65/35 to member artists.

Gift Shop Call to Artists

Confluence Gallery is looking for a vibrant refresh with the coming spring and summer seasons! Do you create with bugs, blooms or buds? Other spirited springy bits? We want your work now!

Summary

We welcome you, artists and artisans alike, to contribute your work to our ever evolving gallery gift shop. We are accepting submissions of all varieties, but are particularly in need of menswear, ceramics, and original works!

If you create, in any medium, please submit up to 5 clear images of individual pieces or product lines to be juried. Describe the medium and/or process of your art or products and the corresponding price points. The open call deadline is July 30, 2020.

Rules

Each piece must be…

  • Your own original work.
  • Available for sale.
  • Created in the last 3 years.
  • Any size
  • Any medium.
  • Ready for hanging with appropriate hardware/wire secured to work (artwork without hanging hardware will not be accepted).

Please Note…
The gallery has the right to refuse work, even after work is delivered to the gallery, if it does not contribute to the direction, cohesiveness, or available space of the gift shop. We are looking for high quality execution that contributes to the diversity and vision of the gallery gift shop program.
