Artist to Artist

About Artist to Artist Events

CGAC offers quarterly gatherings for artists – Artist to Artist. These events are hosted by an Okanogan region artist in their working studio. The events are free and provide an opportunity for the resident artist to share something about themselves and their work. Typically the events feature an educational component from another presenter.

Local and visiting artists are invited to attend Artist to Artist gatherings. The events provide educational and networking presentations which foster creativity, business skills, dialogue and collaboration within the local artist community, but also for an evening of socializing!

Join fellow artists for presentations by Methow Valley artists Mandy Shoger and Mary Powell at Mandy’s Twispwork’s studio Foxtail Pottery.

Mandy Shogers hand-thrown dinnerware designs are inspired by travel, historical architecture, nature, old tile books and textiles. Mandy has developed an intricate process using layers of stencils and glazing to create her unique tableware designs. Her palette of blues, greens and neutrals creates dinnerware that is both functional and beautiful for every day use at every table.

Mary Powell, an impressionist oil painter specializing in scenes of the contemporary West. Mary is most interested in capturing and celebrating what she sees: the drama, color, and life of the beautiful Methow Valley. The underpinning of Mary’s works are academic, but, her emphasis is always on color. Mary is registered in the National Gallery for Women in the Arts in Washington D.C., and highly acclaimed in her genre with her work in collections locally, regionally and internationally.
